Mosaic Collage Wall Art Found Object Ceramic Pieces, Crockery, Doll Head "OOPS!" 10" x 8" x 1 1/4" Walnut Wood Frame OOAK Hand Made


This is a hand crafted one-of-a-kind mosaic collage wall hanging that measures 10 1/4" x 8 1/4" x 1 1/4" deep. The frame is solid walnut wood. This mosaic piece is titled, "OOPS!" and features antique broken pottery pieces found in creek at site of old school house in Southern Illinois. There is also a porcelain doll head and hand in the arrangement. The doll has hand to face and looks like it is saying, "OOPS?" to all the broken dishes around it! Some of the ceramics in this piece have natural rocks embedded in them from many years in creek. I used a dark grout around the pieces which reminded me of the creek mud they were found in. It's very possible that some of order the crockery pieces were from Anna Pottery (Kirkpatrick Brothers, circa 1850-1890). The Kirkpatrick's were the major maker of pottery in Union Co., Illinois at that time. The clay was sourced locally at a nearby kaolin pit. There is a wire hanging devise on the back. This item could also sit on a table top with use of easel (no easel included).
